About the Lamhorn 1.8
The Lamhorn 1.8 is a high-efficiency single-driver back loaded horn speaker created by Robert Lamarre of RL Acoustique, Montreal. It features a folded back horn design measuring 1.8 meters in length, constructed from 25 mm (1") 17-ply Brazilian Birch plywood with no voids, ensuring high cabinet rigidity and quality. The speaker is compatible with several 8" full-range drivers such as AER mk1, Reps R-1, and Lowther models (EX3, DX3, EX4, DX4), with the AER mk1 often recommended for optimal synergy. Internally, it is wired with Vacuum State silverfoil cables. The Lamhorn 1.8 offers an efficiency around 94 dB and is praised for its three-dimensional soundstage, dynamic contrasts, and physical presence of musical imaging. It requires about 1.5 meters of space from the back wall for optimal soundstage depth.
