The Ringmat Statmat CDi Blue is an advanced electrostatic control mat for CDs, developed to enhance the reproduction quality of CD recorded music by dissipating static charges that build up during play. It consists of two Statmat films placed at 90 degrees to each other with a blue substrate in between, using a special anti-vibration CDi pattern. This design reduces electrostatic fields and vibration effects, resulting in a more open soundstage, sharper image placement, improved instrument timbre, and reduced signal phase distortion. The CDi Blue is heavier than earlier single-film versions to prevent movement during drawer operation and to provide greater effectiveness in static and vibration control. It was launched in 2001 and is praised for enhancing bass depth, pace, control, and overall musical integrity without coloring the sound. The mat is thin, blue, and delicate, and it sits on top of the CD in the player tray without adding significant weight to the transport mechanism.
