About the S/550

The REL Acoustics S/550 is a compact yet powerful subwoofer that redefines the entry point to REL's Serie S line. It pairs a 550-watt Pure Class D amplifier with advanced CarbonAlloy drivers to deliver speed, scale, and dynamic authority. The redesigned 10-inch active driver features a pure carbon-fiber cap for razor-sharp attack and natural decay, while the 12-inch down-firing passive radiator with 60mm of travel extends response with authority. The S/550 is engineered for seamless integration with full-range loudspeakers and reference systems, offering both musical finesse and cinematic impact. It features REL's signature High-Level Neutrik Speakon connection for unmatched speaker integration, along with low-level RCA and XLR inputs. The subwoofer is available in Piano Black or Gloss White lacquer finishes with a standard cloth grille, and an optional premium wood grille is available. Airship Direct wireless connectivity is available as an optional upgrade. The S/550 is suitable for stereo pairs, line arrays, and dual-use music and theater systems.
