About the S/2

The REL S/2 is a compact subwoofer designed to provide powerful, fast, and tuneful bass performance suitable for systems with limited space or compact speakers. It features a 250-watt NextGen Class D digital amplifier paired with a 10-inch front-firing active driver and a 10-inch down-firing passive radiator, both carefully matched for seamless bass extension and clarity. The active driver includes an anodized aluminium dustcap that stiffens the cone and reduces moving mass by about 15%, improving transient response for better snap and attack. The passive radiator uses the same driver cone and surround as the active driver but is tuned to a slightly lower frequency to extend bass response downward and produce cleaner bass. The subwoofer offers multiple input connectors including Hi-Level Neutrik Speakon, left and right low-level phono, LFE phono, and SMA for wireless antenna. It has a gain control range of 80 dB and a lower frequency response of 24Hz at -6 dB in-room. The S/2 is praised for its musicality, smooth integration, and ability to enhance the scale and depth of audio playback, making it a versatile choice for hi-fi systems and smaller floor-standing or monitor speakers.
