The REL S/812 subwoofer represents a significant advancement in REL's mid-sized subwoofer lineup, delivering powerful, precise, and deep bass performance suitable for high-end two-channel music systems and multichannel home cinemas. It features a 12-inch Continuous CastAlloy™ active driver with an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber backing that strengthens and stiffens the cone while eliminating internal backwave interference. Complementing this is a 12-inch down-firing Carbon/Carbon SuperProgressive passive radiator designed for extremely long linear travel, allowing the subwoofer to act like a sealed-box 12-inch design at low volumes and a high-output 14-inch design at its limits. The S/812 is powered by an 800-watt NextGen5 Class D amplifier, which provides 45% more power than its predecessor, enabling robust output and dynamic range. It includes custom filters such as PerfectFilter™ and PureTheatre™ to enhance bass extension, clarity, and theater dynamics. Connectivity options are comprehensive, including high-level Neutrik Speakon, low-level stereo RCA, LFE RCA, and LFE XLR inputs and outputs, allowing seamless integration with various audio systems. The design also supports stacking in 4- or 6-unit line arrays for enhanced performance. The cabinet dimensions are approximately 17" W x 18" H x 20" D, and the unit weighs about 75 lbs. The S/812 is finished in a high-quality gloss black lacquer with aluminum grab handles and discrete badging, combining aesthetic appeal with functional design.
