About the RP6

The Rega RP6 turntable is designed with advanced engineering to deliver exceptional vinyl playback. It includes a 24-volt low-noise AC motor powered by an external hand-tuned power supply for minimal vibration and excellent speed stability. The RB303 tonearm on the RP6 features upgraded bearings and a stainless steel counterweight for smooth tracking. The platter is a two-piece glass design bonded with UV-cured glue, adding mass at the outer edge for better rotational stability. GrooveMaster modifications enhance the RP6 by replacing the stock plastic/aluminum subplatter with a precision-machined billet aluminum subplatter featuring a sapphire thrust plate and zirconia bearing ball, which significantly reduces vibration and noise floor. The mod also includes a triple brass pulley and three silicone belts that improve speed stability and rhythmic timing. These upgrades address the original RP6's subplatter weaknesses, resulting in a more solid sound with improved bass, treble, and overall detail retrieval. Installation of the GrooveMaster subplatter is straightforward and requires no further adjustments to the turntable.
