About the RP1

The Rega RP-1 is a two-speed belt-drive turntable featuring a manual RB101 tonearm and Ortofon OM 5E moving-magnet cartridge (upgradable to Rega Bias 2 via Performance Pack). It uses a phenolic resin platter, AC synchronous motor, and magnetic antiskating mechanism. Designed for simplicity and performance, it offers plug-and-play setup with a focus on durability and precise vinyl playback. The RP-1 was succeeded by the Planar 1 series but remains a benchmark for affordable analog systems.
