About the RB1000

The Rega RB1000 tonearm, introduced in 2002 as a replacement for the discontinued RB900, is manufactured using state-of-the-art CNC engineering centers and hand-assembled with high precision. It features a polished aluminium arm tube with no external coating, continuous wiring from cartridge tags to phono plugs, and a new rotary bias control. The arm base uses a rigid 3-point stainless steel mounting block and vertical bearing housing machined from solid stainless steel, ensuring extremely high structural rigidity and ultra-low friction movement. Bearings are hand-graded and of a type typically found in navigational gyroscopes, fitted with zero tolerance interference fits for exceptional precision. The RB1000 is praised for its sonic refinement, smoothness, and transparency, offering performance comparable to much higher-priced tonearms.
