About the P10 System

The Rega P10 system combines the Planar 10 turntable with the Aphelion 2 moving coil cartridge and the P10 power supply unit, delivering outstanding vinyl playback with precision engineering and advanced technology. The Planar 10 turntable features a lightweight design with a new removable single-piece dust cover, dimensions of 420 x 115 x 350 mm, and a weight of 4.7 kg. The P10 PSU measures 218 x 80 x 320 mm and weighs 3 kg, providing a DSP core that generates a near-perfect sinusoidal waveform to power the motor, with factory-set vibration removal and fine speed adjustments for optimal performance. The Aphelion 2 cartridge is Rega's fourth-generation handmade moving coil cartridge, featuring a boron rod cantilever with a fine line type nude diamond profile, a super high-powered neodymium magnet, and a meticulously hand-wound coil on an iron micro cross. This design reduces generator weight, allowing superior groove tracking and detail extraction. The cartridge is housed in a single-piece black anodized aluminum body with a CAD-designed clear rigid cover to protect delicate internal wires during handling and installation. Technical specifications for the Aphelion 2 include a tracking pressure of 1.9 g, input load impedance of 100 Ω, output impedance of 10 Ω, nominal output voltage of 350 μV, channel balance of ≥ 10 μV, and separation of ≥ -29 dB. This system is highly regarded for its wide bandwidth, powerful yet nimble bass, and excellent imaging and three-dimensional soundstage.
