About the Apheta 2

The Rega Apheta 2 is a moving coil (MC) phono cartridge renowned for its ability to extract detailed sound from vinyl records. It features a super high-powered neodymium magnet and a coil meticulously hand-wound on an iron cross that is fifty percent smaller than the original, allowing for greater freedom to track the vinyl groove and extract more detail. The cartridge is housed in a single-piece aluminum anodized body with a CAD-designed clear rigid cover to protect the internal fine wires, making it safe and risk-free to handle during installation. Unlike conventional MC cartridges, the Apheta 2 does not use a steel suspension system or foam damper, which can introduce unwanted resonance and vibration. It is particularly well-suited for use with Rega's RP8 and RP10 turntables.
