The Reference 3A MM De Capo i is a high-quality loudspeaker designed by company founder Daniel Dehay. It features a proprietary 7" woven carbon fiber midrange/bass driver with a flexible rubber surround and a molded phase plug, combined with a 1" fabric dome tweeter made to the company's specifications. The speaker uses a simple high-pass filter with a single capacitor, contributing to its higher-than-average electrical sensitivity of about 91-92 dB/W/m and an amplifier-friendly impedance of 8 ohms. The cabinet is designed with sloped front baffles for physical time alignment and chamfered edges to reduce treble splash. It incorporates a multilayered wooden Vibra-Puck to control resonances and uses high-quality components such as old-style oil capacitors and halogen-free van den Hul wiring. The speaker weighs 27 lbs and measures 15" high, 11" wide, and 13" deep. It is known for its efficiency and is favored by enthusiasts of single-ended triode (SET) tube amplifiers.
