The Reed 5T is Reed's first appearance in the tangential tonearm domain and is described as one of the most advanced tonearms the company has made. It is a tangentially tracking pivoted tonearm using a low-noise thrust-sleeve bearing, a limited-rotation sectional torque motor, and laser plus linear sensor array control for arm position. The design emphasizes very low tracking error, no need for anti-skating, and a compact mechanism with user-replaceable armwands that let the owner change effective mass. It is offered in multiple armwand materials and finishes, and is available in 9", 10.5", and 12" versions. The product is shown by dealers at prices around €13,709.70 to €17,160.00 depending on configuration and seller.
