About the Muse 1C
The Nelson-Reed Muse 1C (listed by Reed as the Muse 1C) is a traditionally styled, mid-range high-performance turntable with a robust wooden body and design cues from 1970s-era decks. It uses a quartz-based phase-locked loop for speed stability, can be configured with either belt drive or friction (idler-style) drive, and includes an electronic inclinometer for precise leveling. It supports 16, 33.3, 45, and 78 RPM playback, with 78 RPM adjustable over a 70–85 RPM range. The chassis can accept one center- or off-center-mounted tonearm with effective lengths from 9.5 to 12 inches. Based on the available sources, it is still listed by retailers and the manufacturer, so it is not confirmed as no longer manufactured.
