The Redpoint Audio Design Model D turntable starts with a solid billet base of aluminum and incorporates a 2" black Teflon composite platter that is damped by silicone oil and shot for superior sonic performance. The motor pod houses a battery-powered 12V DC motor equipped with precious metal brushes and sleeve bearings, also fully damped with silicone oil and shot. The turntable includes a custom-designed arm pod that can accommodate a chosen tonearm, with additional arm pods available for multiple tonearms. Finish options include custom metal platings, luxury automotive paint, and anodized finishes. The total weight is approximately 150 lbs depending on options. The Model D is praised for its elegant simplicity and world-class performance, delivering bone-crushing bass, lifelike midrange, and crisp treble with laser-focused imaging and a robust soundstage.
