About the SFTR

The RBH Sound SFTR is a large, two-module, partially active modular floorstanding loudspeaker system introduced in 2023. Each channel consists of an 821-SF/R sealed passive upper module, using a D’Appolito arrangement of dual 8-inch aluminum-cone mid-woofers around a large Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter, and a 1212-MS/R sealed lower module with dual side-firing 12-inch aluminum-cone long-throw subwoofers. The subwoofer section is active and can be supplied with either two internal 2,400-watt DSP amplifiers or an external RBH DA-2602DSP amplifier rated at 2,200 watts per channel into 4 ohms. The upper module requires an external stereo amplifier. The SFTR is distinct from the fully active SFTR/AX variant. RBH’s current product listings and review pages indicate that the SFTR remains a current product rather than a discontinued model.
