About the Mid Mono

The Quicksilver Audio Mid Mono is a hand-wired, all-tube monoblock power amplifier designed and manufactured by Quicksilver Audio. It uses a push-pull output stage with two matched octal power tubes per amplifier, adjustable bias, a low-loss output transformer, and five-way gold-plated speaker binding posts. Published specifications vary by production revision: an earlier manual lists 40 watts per channel and a 13 Hz–100 kHz power bandwidth, while the current manufacturer product page lists 40 watts and 16 Hz–35 kHz. Output power also depends on the installed tubes: approximately 40 watts with EL34 or KT77 tubes, 45 watts with KT88 or KT120 tubes, and up to about 50 watts with KT150 tubes. The product remains listed on Quicksilver Audio’s current website, so it should not be considered discontinued, although older examples may differ in chassis finish, bias-adjustment arrangement, transformer design, and published specifications.
