About the Platina Stream

The Quad Platina Stream is a high-end network player and DAC in Quad's premium Platina line, designed as a versatile front-end for modern hi-fi systems. It features a robust steel chassis with aluminum front panel, side-mounted heat sinks, and anti-resonance feet for optimal performance and aesthetics. At its core is the ES9038PRO Sabre DAC chip with eight audio channels, Quad's proprietary circuitry, dual ultra-precision master clocks, and a Class A post-DAC stage for minimized noise and distortion. It supports extensive hi-res formats including PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512. Streaming is handled via Gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5GHz), with native support for Roon Ready, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, TuneIn Radio, and Plex. Control is via the dedicated QUAD Platina app (iOS/Android) or the front-panel 4.3-inch full-color IPS LCD (800x480). It includes variable analog outputs (0–2.05Vrms) for use as a preamp, making it compatible with various amplifiers. Powered by a linear supply with a 50VA toroidal transformer and dedicated low-noise regulators. Available in silver or black finishes since November 2025.
