The Quad Artera Pre is an innovative solid-state analogue preamplifier from Quad's flagship Artera series, combining classic British design with modern features. It revives Quad's famous Tilt control, which adjusts bass and treble together around a 700Hz axis in 1dB steps for tonal balance without affecting volume or sound coloration. Additional analogue bass filters include +4.5dB lift at 60Hz and -4.5dB shelf cut for room correction or speaker extension. EQ profiles can be assigned per input. The unit offers a low-noise Class A phono stage configurable for MM or MC cartridges, a discrete Class A headphone amplifier with low output impedance, and fully balanced electronics with four-channel volume control. Inputs support direct mode for shortest signal path, and one line input can be set to AV bypass. Power supply includes 11 regulated rails with ultra-low-noise regulators and a heavy toroidal transformer. Available in black or silver finish with touch-sensitive OLED controls and remote handset.
