About the Q205

The Qsonix Q205 is a high-performance digital music server and music-management system introduced in the early 2010s. It stores, catalogs, and plays locally held digital music through a Wadia Digital-designed digital-output section. The unit is intended to be connected to an external DAC, preamplifier, or receiver because it has no analog audio outputs. Control is provided through an optional 15-, 17-, or 19-inch touchscreen controller, computer software, and compatible iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad remote-control interfaces. The Q205 supports high-resolution playback up to 24-bit/192 kHz, multiple simultaneous digital outputs, metadata-based browsing, CD importing, network connectivity, and RS-232/TCP-IP home-automation integration. It is an obsolete product and is no longer manufactured; current availability is limited to used or refurbished examples, and legacy software, remote-control, and metadata-service compatibility may vary.
