The Pure Sound P10 MM Phono Stage is a valve phono amplifier intended for audiophiles who appreciate the distinctive sound quality of vinyl records. It supports moving magnet and high output moving coil cartridges, with low output moving coil cartridges requiring an additional step-up device or transformer. The amplifier uses double triodes in a simple anode follower configuration with passive component phono equalisation to maintain accuracy and minimize phase shift. It features no negative feedback and an elaborate high tension power supply with separate, heavily decoupled voltage rails for each valve half, ensuring stable and clean voltage supply. The valve filaments are powered by DC for consistent operation. The P10 uses close tolerance metal film resistors, polypropylene coupling capacitors, and selected valves. It delivers a gain of 40 dB and has an input impedance of 47 kohms for MM and high output MC cartridges. Its dimensions are 21cm wide, 9cm high, and 36cm deep, weighing approximately 5 kg. The P10 is designed to meet strict performance criteria for excellent vinyl playback when used with appropriate ancillary equipment.
