About the PTP6
The PTP6 is an innovative top plate replacement for Heavy Platter Lenco record players, designed and produced by PTP Audio. It is made from 4mm thick stainless steel and laser cut to precise specifications. The design features a separate island for the motor, which effectively isolates motor vibrations from the bearing, resulting in lower noise floor, improved imaging, and overall better sound quality. The PTP6 addresses the original Lenco's top plate weaknesses, such as its flimsy pressed steel construction and difficult VTA adjustment due to the low platter height. This top plate has been in continuous production since 2006 with several improvements, and it forms the basis for PTP Audio's turntable builds. Dimensions are approximately W-190mm x H-40mm x D-180mm. The PTP6 is favored by audiophiles seeking a robust and sonically superior upgrade to classic Lenco turntables.
