The PS Audio PerfectWave DAC MK II is a sophisticated digital-to-analog converter featuring a Wolfson WM8741 stereo differential DAC chip capable of handling up to 32-bit/192kHz audio signals. It includes seven asynchronous digital inputs such as USB, I2S over HDMI, AES/EBU, S/PDIF, Toslink, and a network input via the optional PerfectWave Bridge, which supports streaming high-resolution audio up to 192kHz/32-bit over a home network. The DAC also functions as a preamplifier, eliminating the need for a separate preamp in many systems. The Bridge module slides into the back of the DAC and transforms it into a state-of-the-art network media player, compatible with UPnP apps and controlled via handheld devices. The unit offers multiple digital filters, phase reversal, and a remote control for volume and input selection. It supports a wide range of audio file formats including FLAC, WAV, AIFF, and ALAC. The DAC features advanced jitter reduction technology called Digital Lens and offers a NativeX mode for improved sound quality. The Bridge uses a 32-bit asynchronous parallel architecture with a 500MHz core processor and 256MB DDR memory to ensure low jitter and high fidelity streaming.
