The PS Audio PerfectWave system includes the PerfectWave Transport (PWT), PerfectWave DAC (PWD), and PerfectWave Bridge (PWB) for network streaming. The PWT is a high-quality disc transport capable of reading SACD, CD, DVD-R, and various audio file formats from discs or USB drives. It features multiple digital outputs including balanced AES/EBU, coaxial, optical, HDMI, and I2S, with advanced digital lens technology and galvanically isolated output stages to ensure signal purity. The PWD DAC uses an FPGA core processor with handwritten code, upsampling digital inputs to high DSD rates before conversion to analog, and offers multiple digital inputs including I2S, coaxial, USB, AES/EBU, and a network bridge slot. It features resolution perfect volume and balance controls, a simple signal path with a master clock immune to jitter, and firmware upgrades. The system is praised for its refined sound quality, clarity, and engaging musical presentation. The components are well-built with intuitive touchscreens and remote controls, supporting a wide range of sample rates and audio formats including DSD and PCM.
