About the NuWave

The PS Audio NuWave DAC is a state-of-the-art digital-to-analog converter designed to accept USB, coaxial S/PDIF, and optical digital inputs, supporting PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD single and double rate via USB and I2S inputs. It features a Burr-Brown PCM1798 balanced DAC chip, a fully discrete Class A analog output stage with no IC op-amps in the signal path, and a large, high-current analog power supply. The unit uses low jitter fixed clocks derived from PS Audio's PerfectWave DAC technology and offers native mode playback bypassing internal sample rate conversion for improved sound quality. The NuWave DAC has balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs, with recommended use of balanced outputs for best performance. It is housed in a compact, robust aluminum and steel chassis, manufactured in Boulder, Colorado. The DAC includes passive analog filtering to reduce transient distortion and supports asynchronous USB audio with XMOS-based drivers for Mac and Windows. Dimensions are approximately 8.2" W x 2.4" H x 14" D, weighing about 12 pounds. It is available in silver or black finishes and comes with a 3-year warranty.
