About the Response ER-1

The ProAc Response ER-1 is a high-quality stand-mounted loudspeaker designed for detailed and dynamic sound reproduction. It features a new 5-inch (130 mm) ProAc bass/midrange driver with a glass fibre weave cone, raised spider assembly, Excel magnet system, and a unique acrylic damping phase plug for reduced distortion and enhanced clarity. The tweeter is a 0.75-inch (19 mm) dome unit with a honeycomb-wound voice coil, special damping, and a ferrofluid-cooled coil assembly for smooth high-frequency response. The crossover uses the finest components on a dedicated circuit board with multistrand oxygen-free copper cable throughout, and it is split for optional bi-wiring or bi-amping. The speaker has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, recommended amplifier power of 20 to 100 watts, and a sensitivity of 87.5 dB (1 watt at 1 meter). Its frequency response ranges from 38 Hz to 30 kHz. The cabinet is finished in real wood veneers including Black Ash, Mahogany, Cherry, and Maple, with Rosewood and Ebony available to order. The grille is acoustically transparent crimplene. Dimensions are 12 inches (305 mm) high, 6.6 inches (168 mm) wide, and 10.25 inches (260 mm) deep including the grille thickness. The speaker weighs 20 lbs (9 kg).
