The Pro-Ject Xtension 9 Evolution is a premium belt-drive turntable designed for audiophiles seeking superior vinyl playback performance. It features a heavy 16 kg CNC-machined MDF chassis with mass-loaded magnetic floating feet to isolate vibrations. The 300 mm diameter, 5.4 kg aluminum platter is precision balanced and damped with thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), topped with a vinyl layer for optimal record contact. The platter spins on an inverted ceramic ball bearing with magnetic support to minimize noise and resonance. Speed control is electronic with quartz-regulated precision, allowing seamless 33 and 45 rpm changes with a speed variance of ±0.09% and wow and flutter of ±0.1%.
