The Classic Reference turntable from Pro-Ject is an advanced belt-drive model designed for audiophiles seeking exceptional sound quality and elegant design. It is based on the Classic EVO and the experience gained from the VPO 175 limited edition turntable. The turntable features a 300mm aluminum main platter with a Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) damping ring to eliminate unwanted resonance. It uses a stainless steel main bearing and a diamond-cut aluminum sub-platter for enhanced speed accuracy and stability. The tonearm is the EVO 9 AS HG, equipped with an inverted cardanic Swiss ABEC 7 bearing housed in a heavyweight aluminum gimbal for frictionless, resonance-free operation. The tonearm has a removable SME-type headshell allowing cartridge swaps. The turntable supports electronic speed changes at 33, 45, and 78 RPM. It includes balanced full-sized XLR outputs alongside traditional RCA outputs for noise-free signal transmission. Accessories include a 15V DC / 0.8A power supply, dust cover, Clamp it record clamp, and Leather it record mat for additional resonance control. The chassis is an aluminum-MDF sandwich with TPE damping pods for isolation. Dimensions are approximately 462 x 138 x 335 mm (WxHxD) with the lid closed. The Classic Reference is hand-made in Europe and offers a refined listening experience with high precision and low noise.
