About the Phono Box RS

The Pro-Ject Phono Box RS is a high-end phono preamplifier for MM and MC cartridges, featuring adjustable gain and exceptionally flexible loading. MC input impedance is continuously adjustable from 10 to 1,200 ohms, while MM and high-output MC cartridges can use selectable 100, 200, 300, 420, or 520 pF capacitance settings at 47 kOhms. It provides selectable passive RIAA and DECCA equalization, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connections, a 20 Hz subsonic filter with a 12 dB/octave slope, and a shielded metal chassis. Gain is selectable, with RCA settings of 40, 50, and 60 dB and XLR settings of 46, 56, and 66 dB. The unit uses a discrete, symmetrical circuit design and is specified with a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 91 dB A-weighted.
