The Pro-Ject RPM 5 Carbon turntable incorporates advanced design elements from its flagship RPM 9 Carbon model, including a low-resonance carbon-wrapped MDF chassis and an inverted platter bearing with a ceramic ball for ultra-low rumble and smooth rotation. It features a 300mm acoustically inert satinized acrylic platter and a 9" cc EVO tonearm made from a single piece of carbon fiber, suitable for high-quality MM and MC cartridges. The tonearm includes a TPE-damped counterweight to reduce resonance and integrated adjustments for VTA, VTF, anti-skate, and azimuth. The drive system uses a precision belt drive with a free-standing synchronous 15V AC motor powered by an ultra-precise AC generator and DC power supply, ensuring excellent speed stability and low wow and flutter. The turntable supports 33 and 45 rpm speeds with manual speed change and comes with a detachable RCA audio cable and grounding lug for flexible connection options. It includes a pre-mounted Sumiko Amethyst moving magnet cartridge and offers a signal-to-noise ratio of 73 dB. The RPM 5 Carbon is available in high-gloss black, red, and white finishes and weighs approximately 8 kg. It requires a phono preamp or a phono input on a receiver or preamplifier and does not include a dust cover by default, though one is available optionally. The package includes a comprehensive set of accessories such as a record clamp, 45 rpm adapter, anti-skate weights, and tools for setup and alignment.
