About the RM-5.1 SE
The Pro-Ject RM-5.1 SE is a high-performance manual belt-drive turntable that combines precision engineering with quality materials for audiophile-grade vinyl playback. It features a 12" resonance-optimized medium density fiberboard (MDF) platter with an integrated vinyl mat and screw-on record clamp, supported by a precision bearing system for smooth and quiet rotation. The 9" fixed headshell carbon fiber tonearm incorporates precision Swiss bearings and allows easy adjustment of vertical tracking angle (VTA) and azimuth for optimized playback and cartridge flexibility. The turntable includes a Sumiko Blue Point No.2 high-output moving coil cartridge factory mounted, known for its wide frequency response and musical sound. The motor is decoupled from the base to reduce vibration transmission, and the plinth is made of MDF with adjustable aluminum cone feet to minimize noise and vibration. It supports 33-1/3 and 45 rpm speeds, with wow and flutter rated at ±0.08% and a signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB. The unit comes with a detachable RCA audio cable with ground wire, external power supply, and various accessories including a record clamp, counterweights, and alignment tools. The RM-5.1 SE is praised for its robust build, excellent sound quality, and upgrade potential, making it a strong value proposition in its price range.
