About the PRE32

The PRE32 is a high-end preamplifier designed to match Primare power amplifiers such as the A34.2. It features fully balanced and short signal paths with no capacitors in the signal path, using active DC servos to eliminate DC offset. The preamp offers two pairs of low-noise balanced XLR inputs and four pairs of RCA inputs, plus balanced and unbalanced outputs and a record output. Volume, source selection, and balance controls are performed purely in the analogue domain. The unit includes an OLED display with customizable input naming and screen color, and supports RS232, IR, trigger, and RF control inputs/outputs for integration with home control systems. An optional MM30 media board upgrade adds digital inputs including USB, iPod, LAN streaming, Internet radio, and aptX Bluetooth. The PRE32 is housed in a heavy gauge alloy steel chassis with Scandinavian design aesthetics, weighs 10.5 kg, and measures 430 x 385 x 105 mm. It has a frequency response of 20 Hz to 100 kHz (-3 dB), THD+N less than 0.003%, signal-to-noise ratio of -115 dBV, gain of 16 dB, and maximum output level of 10 Vrms. Standby power consumption is 0.2 W, operating power 23 W. The preamp is known for sonic finesse, low distortion, and excellent integration with Primare's Class D power amplifiers.
