The Polk Audio SDA SRS 1.2TL are legendary high-end tower speakers from the 1980s, part of Polk's Signature Reference System (SRS) line utilizing patented Stereo Dimensional Array (SDA) technology to reduce interaural crosstalk and create a holographic soundstage. These enormous cabinets house an array of drivers including four 1-inch SL2000 silver coil dome tweeters (with semiconductor thermal self-resetting protection), eight 6.5-inch MW6503 tri-laminate polymer bass-midrange drivers (four for line source, four for crosstalk cancellation), and one 15-inch SW150 fluid-coupled passive subwoofer radiator per speaker. They employ an Isophase crossover system, passive radiator enclosure in mirror-imaged left-right cabinets, and require a special interconnect cable (often not included). Production was discontinued in the early 1990s with no direct replacement, transitioning Polk to the RTA series. Highly regarded for their huge soundstage, detail, and bass, they demand powerful amplifiers stable into low impedances due to power-hungry design.
