About the SA-102
The Plinius SA-102 is a high-performance solid-state stereo power amplifier delivering 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms in stereo mode, and up to 460 watts into 8 ohms when bridged or balanced mono. It features a powerful design capable of short-term current delivery approaching 30 amps per channel, with a heavy-duty power supply split into two circuits for driver and output stages. The amplifier supports multiple operating modes selectable via a four-position switch: RCA Stereo, RCA Bridged Mono, XLR Stereo, and XLR Balanced Mono. It includes balanced and single-ended inputs, four speaker binding posts per channel for biwiring, a ground-lift switch to eliminate ground-loop hum, and internal Siltech silver wiring. The front panel has a main power switch with a 10-second initialization sequence, mute switch, and a bias mode switch allowing Class A or Class AB operation. The SA-102 is noted for its ultra-flexible configuration options, robust build quality, and excellent sonic performance, especially when run in Class A mode.
