About the MPS-X

The Playback Designs MPS-X is a high-end digital frontend, network music streamer, and digital transport. It is designed to isolate digital sources from a DAC, reduce incoming clock jitter using Playback Designs’ proprietary PDFAS buffering and clocking technology, and provide galvanically isolated connection to compatible Playback Designs DACs through the proprietary PLINK optical interface. It has no DAC section and therefore provides no analog audio output; conversion must be performed by a separate DAC. Sources include network streaming, NAS libraries, USB computers or servers, and standard digital inputs. Supported services and protocols include Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, vTuner, DLNA/UPnP, and Roon. The unit can connect to non-Playback Designs DACs through AES/EBU or coaxial S/PDIF. Available manufacturer and distributor information identifies the MPS-X as a current Playback Designs product; it is therefore not classified as discontinued.
