The Playback Designs MPD-8 Dream DAC is the flagship DAC from the Dream Series, designed for ultra-high-end performance. It converts all digital signals to DSD using proprietary FPGA-based algorithms, delivering a natural, relaxed, musical presentation with exceptional detail and precision. Featuring a dual-mono architecture with separate circuit boards and power supplies for each channel, it minimizes interference and maximizes soundstage clarity. The MPD-8 includes a high-quality analog preamp with digitally driven volume control, balanced and unbalanced outputs, and supports the highest resolution formats. It pairs ideally with the MPT-8 transport via proprietary PLINK optical link for jitter-free transmission. Remote control is available via IR, iPad, or Android apps, and it is software-upgradeable by the end user.
