About the PD-F100

The Pioneer PD-F100 is a file-type compact disc player manufactured in Japan during 1994 and 1995. It features a unique design where 100 CDs are stored in four vertical compartments of 25 discs each, with a laser player carriage that slides horizontally behind the discs on a rail, rather than rotating the discs. This bullet-proof design contributes to its reliability and longevity. The player supports CD, CD-R, and CD-RW playback and offers three listening modes: custom, all, and single. It has a frequency response of 2Hz to 20kHz, a dynamic range of 96dB, signal-to-noise ratio of 98dB, channel separation of 96dB, and total harmonic distortion of 0.003%. The line output is 2V. The unit measures 420 x 399 x 190 mm and weighs 11 kg. It comes with a sturdy, well-designed remote control. Despite its age, the PD-F100 is noted for its excellent audio quality and durability, with many units still functioning well decades after production ended.
