About the BDP-95FD
The Pioneer Elite BDP-95FD is Pioneer's third-generation premium Blu-ray player, released around 2007 with an It supports Blu-ray Profile 1.0, lacking BonusView (picture-in-picture) and BD-Live features. Key strengths include excellent Blu-ray video performance at 1080p/24 and 1080p/60, strong analog video outputs, and full bitstream support for advanced audio codecs like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio via HDMI 1.3a. It features a LAN port for firmware updates and streaming music/photos/videos from PCs via Home Media Gallery (DLNA, Windows Media Connect/Player 11). Audio options include internal decoding for Dolby Digital Plus, TrueHD (no DTS-HD internal decode), and 5.1 analog outputs. Video performance excels in core metrics like no pixel cropping and perfect analog frequency response but struggles with advanced DVD cadence detection and slow load times. All connections are gold-plated. This model is discontinued.
