Released in 1995, the Pioneer CLD-D704 is a LaserDisc and CD player combo that supports multiple disc formats including LD, CD, CDV, and 20cm LD discs. It features both CAV and CLV LaserDisc modes, gamma turn for both-side play, and CX noise reduction. The player offers a horizontal resolution of 425 TV lines and a video signal-to-noise ratio of 51 dB, with an infrared diode laser at 780 nm wavelength. Audio frequency response ranges from 4 to 20,000 Hz with a digital audio signal-to-noise ratio of 116 dB. It includes digital video noise reduction (V-DNR) with manual on-screen adjustment, and outputs for composite, S-video, coaxial and optical digital audio, plus an AC-3 RF output for surround sound decoding. The unit has a front-panel headphone jack with volume control and remote volume control for headphone and line outputs. Dimensions are 420 x 140 x 434 mm and it weighs 8.4 kg. The CLD-D704 is considered one of the best non-Elite Pioneer LaserDisc players, offering performance comparable to the higher-end Elite CLD-97 model.
