The Pioneer CLD-79 Elite LaserDisc player was released in 1995 and is designed for high-fidelity playback of LaserDisc (LD), Compact Disc (CD), and CD Video (CDV) formats. It features a semiconductor laser with a wavelength of 780 nm and a digital video processor (Pioneer PD0146A) delivering a horizontal resolution of 425 TV lines and a video signal-to-noise ratio of 51 dB. The audio section supports digital audio with a frequency response of 4-20,000 Hz and a signal-to-noise ratio of 115 dB, providing excellent sound quality. It includes multiple outputs such as composite video (2 RCA), S-Video (2 mini-DIN), stereo audio (2 RCA), AC-3 RF for Dolby Digital surround sound, coaxial digital, and optical digital outputs. The unit measures 420 x 140 x 432 mm, weighs 8.7 kg, and consumes 46 watts of power at 120V/60Hz. Accessories include a remote control (Pioneer CU-CLD121).
