The Pioneer BDP-51FD is a Blu-ray disc player designed to deliver high-quality audio and video performance. It supports various disc formats including Blu-ray, DVD, and CD. The player features internal decoding for Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus, with bitstream support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. It also includes a full 7.1-channel analog audio output, though it initially only decodes the DTS core stream, with a planned firmware update for full DTS-HD MA decoding. The BDP-51FD uses four discrete Wolfson Stereo DACs for digital-to-analog conversion and includes a jitter-reduction circuit for improved CD playback. It supports HDMI Version 1.3a with Deep Color and 1080p HD resolution, making it suitable for home theater setups.
