About the PAA2
The Phonic PAA2 is a highly accurate handheld audio analyzer designed for professional sound engineers to measure and analyze audio signals and acoustic environments. It features a 31-band real-time spectrum analyzer covering ISO frequencies from 21 Hz to 20 kHz, a sound pressure level (SPL) meter with a range of 30 to 130 dB, and a built-in calibrated miniature omni-directional condenser microphone. The device supports line signal measurements in dBu, dBV, or volts, with selectable weighting (A, C, or flat) and response times. It includes a phase checker for speaker polarity, a noise generator with pink noise, 1 kHz tone, and polarity test signals, and an EQ setting program to help achieve optimal flat frequency response. The PAA2 can store up to 10 measurement memories and 6 average calculations, and it connects to a PC via RS-232 for data transfer and control. It operates on 4 AA batteries for portability or an external 6 VDC adapter, with over 4 hours of continuous use on batteries. The device has a 160x160 pixel backlit graphic display with adjustable contrast and a jog dial for easy menu navigation. Dimensions are approximately 145 x 83 x 39 mm, weighing 340 g with batteries. It comes with a CD-ROM containing audio test signals and software for PC integration. The PAA2 is a multifunctional tool for audio setup, troubleshooting, and calibration in live and studio environments.
