The Philharmonic Model 3 is a high-performance 3-way floor-standing speaker designed by Dennis Murphy of Philharmonic Audio. It uses a RAAL 70-10D ribbon tweeter for detailed highs, a BG Neo8 planar midrange for smooth and clear midrange reproduction, and a ScanSpeak 22W8851T00 Revelator 8-inch woofer housed in a mass-loaded transmission line cabinet for deep, controlled bass. The speaker offers a frequency response of 25Hz to 20kHz (+/- 2 dB) and a sensitivity of 85 dB (2.83V/1M). The cabinet is built in two sections to isolate the delicate tweeter and midrange drivers from woofer vibrations, with a magnetic cloth covering on the rear of the upper cabinet. Dimensions are 43 inches high, 12 inches wide, and 24 inches deep. The Philharmonic 3 is praised for effortless sound quality at any volume, unsurpassed vocal clarity, a wide and enveloping soundstage, and the ability to be fine-tuned with included absorption materials. It is considered a great value for its performance and is built by Salk Sound. It is suitable for subwoofer-free listening for music and can handle demanding LFE in movies.
