About the Sammy
The PBN Audio Sammy is a high-performance loudspeaker designed with advanced Innerchoic cabinet architecture, which uses stacked rib-frames to create an internal anechoic chamber that traps unwanted sound waves for exceptional audio purity. It features two 10" long-throw woofers with coated cellulose cones, dual 4" mid-range drivers with reed-fiber cones, and a 1" high-efficiency ultra-low distortion beryllium dome tweeter capable of reproducing frequencies beyond 40kHz. The speaker has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and an efficiency of 92 dB, with a frequency response claimed to be 24Hz to 37kHz ±2dB. The crossover uses PBN's proprietary 24dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley slopes with precision hand-wound inductors and high-grade polypropylene film capacitors. The cabinet dimensions are approximately 54" high, 17" wide, and 21" deep, weighing around 320 lbs per pair. The finish options include various real-wood veneers and automotive-grade paints. The Sammy is praised for its ability to fill large rooms with extended, detailed sound and create a magnificent soundstage, making it competitive with other high-end speakers in its price class.
