About the Anti-Cables
Paul Speltz's Anti-Cables are solid-core speaker cables constructed from 12-gauge solid copper wire with an extremely thin dielectric coating (about 0.001 inch thick) that minimizes sonic coloration. These cables are designed to reduce the common issues found in stranded wire cables, such as magnetic interaction and dielectric energy absorption, by using solid-core wire and air as the dielectric. They offer remarkable clarity, spaciousness, and natural sound with a lack of sonic signature, providing a very clean and punchy audio experience. The cables are somewhat stiff and require shaping to avoid contact with carpeting or other cables. They come terminated with basic spades or can be ordered with banana plugs. The price is very affordable at around for an 8-foot pair with spades. The cables are handmade in the USA by Paul Speltz, an electrical engineer and hi-fi enthusiast, using high-purity oxygen-free copper with impurities reduced to 5 parts per million. The design philosophy emphasizes minimal dielectric and solid-core construction to achieve a sound closest to having no cables at all, with extended highs, clear treble, full midrange, and well-articulated bass.
