About the XP25

The Pass Labs XP-25 is a high-performance phono preamplifier designed for both moving-magnet (MM) and moving-coil (MC) cartridges. It features a dual-chassis design with a separate, large power supply chassis to ensure ultra-low noise and high stability. The XP-25 offers three selectable gain levels (53dB, 66dB, and 76dB) to accommodate a wide range of cartridge outputs. It provides extensive front-panel adjustable resistive loading options (30 ohms to 47k ohms) and capacitive loading options (100pF to 750pF), allowing precise tailoring to virtually any cartridge type. The unit includes two separate inputs, a low-cut filter, mute function, and both balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs. Its RIAA response is tightly controlled within ±0.1dB from 20Hz to 20kHz, with extremely low distortion (<0.005% THD for MC and <0.002% THD for MM) and very low noise floor (-93 dB MM, -85 dB MC).
