The Parasound HX-600 THX is a high-powered stereo amplifier designed for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts seeking THX certification quality. It delivers 250 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms with both channels driven, and 400 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms. In bridged mono mode, it can output 750 watts RMS into 8 ohms. The amplifier features a modular channel design, 12 Vdc automatic-on trigger circuitry, and heavy-duty gold-plated 5-way speaker terminals. It has an oversized internal toroidal power transformer and advanced protection circuits including DC servo and relay protection. The HX-600 THX offers a wide power bandwidth from 5 Hz to 100 kHz, very low total harmonic distortion (<0.2% at full power), and a high slew rate (>130 V/µs). It has excellent dynamic headroom (>1.5 dB), interchannel crosstalk (>80 dB at 1 kHz), and a high damping factor (>1100 at 20 Hz). Input sensitivity is 1 V for 28.28 V output at THX reference level, with input impedance of 33 kΩ unbalanced and 66 kΩ balanced. The amplifier is designed for 110-120V operation and weighs approximately 60 lbs. Dimensions are 17.5" W x 7.625" H x 20" D (7" H without feet). This model is no longer manufactured and considered vintage/discontinued by Parasound.
