About the Halo P 5

The Parasound Halo P 5 is a high-performance stereo preamplifier featuring a Burr-Brown PCM1798 DAC with USB, optical, and coaxial digital inputs supporting up to 192 kHz (coaxial and optical) and 96 kHz (USB). It includes a phono stage compatible with both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges with selectable load impedance (100 ohm or 47k ohm). The P 5 offers analog bass management with adjustable high and low pass crossovers, supporting 2.1-channel operation with subwoofer outputs. It has a home theater bypass input for seamless integration with surround sound systems, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs, and a front panel auxiliary input with automatic +12 dB gain for portable devices. The preamplifier features a motorized Alps volume control, headphone output, bass and treble tone controls with defeat option, and remote control. Its build quality includes a brushed aluminum front panel available in black or silver, with dimensions of 17-1/4" W x 13-3/4" D x 4-1/8" H and a weight of 14 lbs (6.3 kg).
