About the Surround 1

The Paradigm Surround 1 is a compact, high-performance surround speaker designed to deliver Paradigm's sought-after 'surrounded-by-sound' experience in a dedicated surround or rear channel application. Built on research conducted in partnership with Canada's National Research Council, the speaker features innovative materials and patented audio technologies. The low-profile bi-directional design ensures maximum placement flexibility and is application-friendly for multi-purpose listening spaces. Two 1-inch X-PAL™ pure-aluminum dome tweeters with patented Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA™) Lens technology block out-of-phase frequencies to increase and smooth output without coloring the sound, while also protecting drivers from damage. Two 4.5-inch mineral-filled polypropylene mid-bass cones with inverted dust caps provide lightweight rigidity and extended bass response. The speaker is ideal for creating immersive surround soundfields that envelop listeners in non-localized sound, making it suitable for both music and home theater applications.
