About the DVD-RP91 DVD/CD Player
The Panasonic DVD-RP91 is a progressive-scan DVD player released in 2001, designed for high-fidelity audio and video playback. It supports a wide range of media including DVD-RAM, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, Video CD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3 CD-R/RW. It features a 54MHz/12-bit video D/A converter for superior video quality, progressive scan output (480p), and MPEG digital noise reduction to enhance picture clarity. The player includes built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders with 5.1-channel audio output and a 192kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter for high-resolution audio playback. Additional features include Digital Re-Master processing for CDs, selectable interlaced/progressive component video output, audio-only mode, and a headphone jack with volume control. It offers multiple video outputs (composite, S-Video, component) and digital audio outputs (optical and coaxial). The unit measures approximately 17" x 12" x 4" and weighs about 7.7 lbs. It was manufactured in Japan and comes with a joystick remote control with glow-in-the-dark buttons. The player is region 1 coded and was well-regarded for its excellent sound and picture quality, solid construction, and useful features, although it does not support SACD playback.
