The Panamax MAX 4400-20A is engineered to provide clean, filtered AC power distribution and maximum surge protection for home theater and audio/video equipment. It supports a maximum current rating of 20 Amps (2400 Watts) and includes nine AC outlets: four always-on outlets for continuous power, four switched outlets controlled by a front panel switch or a DC voltage trigger, and one front panel convenience outlet. The unit features advanced Automatic Voltage Monitoring (AVM) circuitry that protects connected equipment by shutting off power during overvoltage (147VAC ±8VAC) or undervoltage (84VAC ±6VAC) conditions and automatically reconnecting power when voltage returns to safe levels. It uses inductorless capacitive noise filtration to provide clean power without current-limiting components, preserving amplifier performance during dynamic audio peaks. The surge protection rating is UL 1449 compliant with a suppression rating of 330V, a peak impulse current capacity of 52,000 Amps, and a joule rating of 1650 Joules. Additional features include a catastrophic surge circuit that disconnects power during severe surges, thermal fusing for safety, a 3.5mm mini-plug DC trigger input for remote control, a grounding lug, and rack-mounting brackets. The unit comes with a 10-foot Pinnacle High Performance AC power cord with shielded 12-gauge conductors to minimize noise contamination. An optional silver front bezel is available for aesthetic customization. The MAX 4400-20A is UL/cUL listed and designed to complement other Panamax MAX series components for optimized power management in home entertainment systems.
